Permission was given for St Jessica (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
Shortly after the second-last fence, Roses All The Way (IRE), unplaced, edged marginally left-handed at the same time as La Conquiere (FR), placed second, shifted slightly right-handed resulting in BETTY’S DAISY, unplaced, becoming crowded for room and it’s rider having to ease momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of La Conquiere (FR).
The performance of Kapability (FR), which finished unplaced, beaten by 154½ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that Anthony Honeyball could offer no further explanation for the mare’s performance on this occasion other than confirming the report from Harry Cobden that Kapability (FR) stopped quickly turning in.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Blue Betty (GB), unplaced, finished lame on its right- hind and Mr Harry Swan reported that Oldschool Outlaw (IRE), placed seventh, jumped the road crossing at the top of the back straight.
Liam Harrison reported that Highland Haven (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly.
