The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately one and a half furlongs after the start involving Cristal Clere, ridden by S.D. Bowen, placed fifth, Green Impact, ridden by S. Foley, placed first, and Currawood, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second, where it appeared Cristal Clere ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. D. Bowen stated that he received pressure from his right causing him to check. S. Foley stated that he maintained his line and left sufficient room as he went to the rail. W. J. Lee stated that he maintained his line when half a length down on the horse in front of him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied tha no further action was warranted
S. Foley, rider of Green Impact, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had a good look when he jumped from the stalls.
