Permission was given for Lord Protector (GER) and Brilliant Light (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Karibana (IRE) to be mounted on the chute.
The Starter reported that Cap Francais (GB), trained by Ian Williams, had arrived at the start with a girth and surcingle that had to be replaced, causing a delay to the start of the race.
After interviewing Williams, The Stewards were satisfied that there was sufficient adjustment in the girth and surcingle when the gelding left the parade ring, so therefore took no further action.
Following the race, William Buick reported that Soto Sizzler (GB), unplaced, was slowly away, Harry Davies reported that Bell Rock (GB), unplaced, got unbalanced rounding the bend; the Veterinary Officer further reported that the gelding had been struck into right fore.
George Rooke reported that Karibana (IRE), unplaced, jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls which resulted in the gelding to be slowly away, Hollie Doyle reported that Baryshnikov (GB), unplaced, was never travelling in the early stages.
