See also » Lee takes tried and tested route on Inventress She had a lovely debut in Cork on ground that I’d say was just quick enough for her. We felt the way she travelled that day that she’d be able for the drop back in trip but not necessarily need. We have an eye on the 200,000 euro classic here on June 2 and I was keen that she won her maiden beforehand if possible. With the shower of rain yesterday, I thought the ground was kind enough today for her to take her chance. The extended nine and a half furlongs will be no problem for her. I think on soft ground she’s a black type filly. P Twomey, trainer
J.A. Powell, rider of Its All Peachy, trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ducked from the whip up the straight
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Shrihara, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount took a step backwards when the stalls opened
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Its All Peachy, ridden by J.A. Powell, placed second, and Luscious, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed third, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.T. Keane stated that he received slight interference when both horses were quickening. J.A. Powell stated that when he flicked his mount with his right hand, she leaned slightly left but he corrected her immediately. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that J.A. Powell was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays. Ms. Audrey Powell, Raceday Steward, recused herself from this enquiry.
