If any horse ever deserved to win a stakes race it was her, although you don't always get what you deserve. She met a bit of trouble in-running but hit the line strong and while it was a head-bobber, she had previously come out the wrong side of a few tight finishes in her career. We had been campaigning her aggressively to try and win a stakes race and while she built a load of black-type, to win a group race is great. I'd say it will be a career-best on the figures and I thought she won the hard way. She is a group winner now so it is job done although we might look to win another one now.

Cromac Quay never ran last year, as we gave her the time and she bumped into two quite good fillies, I think, on her first two runs. The last day, when she got beaten by Jim Bolger’s filly (Sparan Nua), she pulled off a shoe so there was an excuse as to why she kept going up and down in the last furlong. Today she showed she had the acceleration and it's nice to have one like her. She did that well. It is like going to the mart and not getting any money for a calf. We were delighted with the way she ran at Killarney and hopefully this will turn the corner. In racing, you live with it and celebrate the good days. They'll eventually come back to form and my owners are forgiving as well, and have stayed loyal. We only have 35 horses, so to compete at that level in Ireland is very hard and then you see the entries for a stakes race with 58 two-year-olds, and 42 of them are O'Brien's. That's the way racing has gone and we're like the darts player with only one dart to throw. Then didn't have the pace to hold her position and I said 'for a small filly, you are going to have to be good now because he (Keane) had to take back and go'. She was good and honest.
