Definiteadare opened his account at the second time of asking in handicap company when landing the first division of the Newcastlewest Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today.

Tom Cooper 's charge had gone down by half a length on his first attempt in handicap company at Clonmel at the start of the month and got his head in front in convincing fashion this time.

Bryan Cooper chased the leaders on the 6/1 shot before sending his mount up to dispute jumping the fourth last in the two-mile-five contest.

The Court Cave gelding was driven into the lead turning for home and galloped on well in the closing stages to post a three-length win over Four Horseman.

"He was unlucky in Clonmel as he stumbled at the back of the second last and pulled a shoe and I suppose it didn't help,” said the winning trainer.

“In another 20 yards he was up and it was unfortunate but he did his job today.

"He is going the right way, is tough and stays over the trip. He had point to point experience but horses nearly always take a run in a handicap.

"We had a few quid on the last day, when he was backed at all prices, but left him roll away today. We weren't too far wrong!"
