The victor on that occasion was in a league of his own, but the selection here indicated that it wouldn’t be long until he returned again into the winning groove. That afternoon at Proudstown Park Shanroe Al C raced towards the outer and he was held up in touch. Sixth from the fifth, the son of Arcadio made headway and came with his effort in the straight. The six-year-old was making no impression from after two out but he kept on into second in the closing stages without troubling easy four and three parts of a length victor, the aforementioned Fairly Legal. That event was a two and a half miler, and you’d have to think that the extra furlong here will only be in his favour. Many others need considering – including the J P McManus four. More than one of these could come alive in the market, with some attention in that regard focusing in on the handicap first-timers too.
