Formscan By Tom Weekes - VARSHINI is a previous course-and-distance winner who has good recent form. A heavy-ground victor at today’s venue last April, the selection showed form at Listed-level twice last October and while disappointing on reappearance last month, bounced back with a narrow defeat at the Curragh 19 days ago. That’s race’s runner-up Glory To Be scored subsequently and re-opposes today, but is now 7lb worse off with the selection. Greydreambeliever seems ground-versatile and ran well here earlier this month while Greek Flower finished narrowly behind Glory To Be recently and likes soft ground.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards fillies only that are EBF eligible (100 = 10st)Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.

Quotes on Pink Oxalis (IRE)
It’s a great weekend to showcase Irish racing and just to be part of it is very special; to get one on the board in my first full season as a trainer means a helluva lot. I’ve got a great team of people behind me. My assistant Stephen Mooney is a great part of it, and I owe him plenty. I feel very sorry for Jack Kearney. When we saw the draw for this race we swapped him off this filly, who he has won three times on, and put him on the other filly. It’s just the way the races have been materialising all day, the middle to stands’ side is where you need to be. She’s a real hold up filly and David has given her a perfect ride. To start life off 59 in the wintertime at Dundalk has given her a lot of confidence to come into the turf season. These races aren’t easily won but she’s won like a helluva good filly there today. In Galway from stall 19 she showed that she’s more than capable off top-weight. She ran a cracker. The last day the Cambridgeshire just didn’t work out. There was no pace in the race and Wayne wasn’t hard on her, so she was nice and fresh for today. She’s Saudi owned by a couple of new owners into the yard and hopefully they will be re-investing with us. I’m super proud for them and the support they’ve given me. They sent me this filly before I even had a runner so hats off to them. They picked her out themselves in Goffs, five-and-a-half grand. She must be one of the most progressive hAfter Pink Oxalis (IRE) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Sat, 13th Sep 2025 1m Flat Hcap Good to Yielding

Quotes on Varshini (IRE)
She had a good run last year and had a few little niggly holdups when we were trying to get her to the 'Million'. She scoped wrong and a few things like that. She probably does need a dig in the ground and hopefully she will come forward from that. She’s in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, but that will probably come a bit too quick at this stage. After Varshini (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Wed, 23rd Apr 2025 7f Flat Maiden Heavy

Quotes on Independent Expert (IRE)
I knew she’d love conditions. She had been running at Dundalk and she probably shouldn’t have been as she likes a cut in the ground,. I wasn’t sure if she was fully revved up for today. She’s a filly that doesn’t carry much weight and takes no work to get ready. You’ll probably see the best of her fresh but at the same time I didn’t know if she had enough done to be involved. Joey gave her a lovely ride, he took her back and let them at it, and then she stayed on well. A mile is probably better for her as well. The boys are excellent at claiming, they don’t miss a beat and if there is any value they will take it. They were very sweet on her, they said she just needed a freshen up and she’s obviously done well for the break. She has been placed in some big handicaps and ran in Royal Ascot last year. We’ll make hay while the ground is soft. It’s absolutely brilliant to get one in those colours for the week that’s been. Obviously we lost Jim Gough who was buried last week. For Stephen and James McAuley it’s great for them to get a winner. Jim has been a massive supporter of mine for the last number of years. We’ve had some great horses and we’re going to miss him dearly. The whole yard will miss him. He’s been so good to us, buying horses and keeping us busy. There are ten in the yard at the minute. It would be great if it kept going, we’ll see. He just loved the game and leadinAfter Independent Expert (IRE) finished 1st at Naas on Sun, 22nd Mar 2026 7f Flat Hcap Soft

Quotes on Gloriously Glam (IRE)
The boys bought her online and she had a couple of mediocre runs for me - it was quick ground. She loves a bit of room and a bit of space. Last week in Bellewstown, I wasn't going to run her with the ground. Then I looked, and she is a Profitable, and they have to go on it. She was a little bit unlucky, she just bumped into one of Joseph's. Today, I was a bit (worried) whether she would get the mile or not. I said to Adam if he could make it, make it. If not, just take a lead. Got a lovely lead and he said he was always going to get her in the end. She's very game and she stayed at it well for him. She wasn't an overly dear filly, she has been a great bit of fun. She is after winning twice for us and been second. It was a good race and nice to get that for her. After Gloriously Glam (IRE) finished 1st at Navan on Wed, 8th Oct 2025 1m Flat Hcap Yielding

Quotes on Glory To Be (IRE)
It was a great run the last day when Wayne (Lordan, rider then) said it was unfortunate that the winner just hit her right on the line, so didn’t get a chance to fight her off. All she wants to do is get into a battle and she stayed the seven furlongs really well today. We always thought she would stay but we kept her in the five and six furlong-maidens last year because they are less competitive. She had no problem staying seven furlongs today and probably didn’t know herself, as she was in her comfort zone early on and seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully she’s a fun filly and we’ll find something with her now. There is a nice fillies handicap in Gowran next Wednesday, so we might look at that. After Glory To Be (IRE) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Wed, 15th Apr 2026 7f Flat Hcap Yielding to Soft

Quotes on Tahcawin (IRE)
We were never as disappointed with a horse as we were with her in Roscommon last time. We thought she was a very good filly all year, probably one of our best two-year-olds. I don’t know what she’s beaten there today but hopefully the penny has just dropped now and she might go and do something a bit more next season. She is in the Goffs Million, we probably won’t run her back but it’s an option. We were scratching our heads a little bit in Roscommon, she stopped at the furlong pole and probably wasn’t even the winner at the furlong pole. It was just one of those where we drew a line through it and moved on. She got a mark of 70 so this was an obvious target from there and we trained her for this race and thankfully it worked out. We won’t rush into anything now, we’ll get her home and mind her. She might be finished for the season and she could turn up in a good race yet. After Tahcawin (IRE) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Mon, 22nd Sep 2025 6f Flat Hcap Yielding
