See also » Marnane and McAteer plunder Dundalk treble via Golddream Typical of ours, they usually do (step forward on second run). We were delighted with him, he was only a couple of lengths behind Jamestown (fourth-placed stablemate) who ran really well the other day (runner-up in Gowran Park). It seemed like a strong race today. He's a lovely horse and could be a real good horse. Fingers crossed he is as good as the other Grey Gatsby, Tokenomics. David Marnane, trainer
C.D. Hayes, rider of Kalir, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount rolled right in the closing stages
L.T. McAteer, rider of Golddream (FR), trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a slight bump in the closing stages
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Golddream (FR), ridden by L.T. McAteer, placed first, Grand Premiere (USA), ridden by S. Foley, placed second, and Kalir, ridden by C.D
Hayes, placed third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. L.T. McAteer stated that his mount recieved a bump when the horse on his outside moved close to him, possibly as a result of the strong wind. S. Foley stated that he had to move right to avoid clipping a heel and felt that the wind was a contributing factor. C.D. Hayes stated that when he laid down his challenge his mount moved right, possibly as a result of the strong wind. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred and therefore to no further action
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Scientific, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
W.J. Lee, rider of County Carlow, trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount rolled around for two strides just passed the two furlong mark.
