Approximately 1 furlong after the start, a hard pulling Novello Lad (GB), placed second, shifted right-handed, inconveniencing Highfield Viking (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Novello Lad (GB).
Approximately 5 furlongs from the line, Ataser (GB), unplaced, became briefly short of room and lost its position between Novello Lad (GB), placed second, and Kristal Klear (IRE), unplaced, due to Novello Lad (GB), placed second, lugging slightly right-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Novello Lad (GB).
Approaching 1½ furlongs from the line, a weakening Danzart (IRE), unplaced, shifted right-handed, impeding Novello Lad (GB), placed second, causing that runner to move right-handed which in turn hampered KRISTAL CLEAR (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
On the run to the line, Novello Lad (GB), placed second, hung left-handed bumping the winner, Rascal Recknell (RE), resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Oisin Murphy reported that Novello Lad (GB), placed second, ran too free; Jason Hart reported that Highfield Viking (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approximately 1 furlong after the start; and Ray Dawson reported that Ataser (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approximately 5 furlongs from the line.
