An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start, involving Sensorium (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Kyle Strydom, Havana Sky (GB), unplaced, ridden by Edward Greatrex, Mumayaz (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Pat Cosgrave, Brakeman (GB), unplaced, ridden by Marco Ghiani, Megaphone (GB), unplaced, ridden by Kieran O’Neill and Study Up (GB), unplaced, ridden by Finley Marsh.
Strydom was suspended for 12 days for careless riding as he rode his mount sharply left-handed from stall 13 towards a tightly packed field, leaving an already free running Havana Sky (GB) tight for room and carrying it into Mumayaz (IRE), which resulted in Cosgrave taking a severe check, completely losing his position and interfering with Brakeman (GB), which in turn interfered with Megaphone (GB) which left Study Up (GB) short for room on the rail.
Following the race, Kyle Strydom reported that Sensorium (IRE), placed fifth, hung left-handed; Edward Greatrex reported that Havana Sky (GB), unplaced, ran too free; and the Veterinary Officer reported that Megaphone (GB), unplaced, had bled from the nose.
