D.S. O'Sullivan, rider of Cliadh Dubh, trained by Daniel William O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ducked left coming out of the stalls

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the first bend involving Spinning Around, ridden by G.M. Ryan, Cliadh Dubh, ridden by D.S. O'Sullivan, and Gas Works Wall, ridden by D.P. McDonogh where it appeared Gas Works Wall struck the rail knocking an upright. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.P
McDonogh stated that his mount darted for the railing of its own accord. G.M. Ryan and D.S. O'Sullivan both agreed with his evidence. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
