Permission was given for Electric Bass (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, Chambers (IRE), placed fifth, shifted left-handed before being corrected, giving a small bump to the winner, Electric Bass (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the dead heat winners, Maywedance (IRE), ridden by Kieran O’Neill and Electric Bass (GB), ridden by Kieran Shoemark.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Electric Bass (GB)’ placing as on the run to the line Electric Bass (GB) shifted marginally right-handed making contact with and turning the hind quarters of Maywedance (IRE), causing a loss of momentum, and revised the placings as follows: First, Maywedance(IRE); Second, Electric Bass (GB); Third, Ricardo Phillips (GB) and Fourth, Damascus Steel (IRE).
The interference was found to be accidental as Electric Bass (GB) shifted quickly right-handed before being corrected.
Following the race, Edward Greatrex reported that Pysanka (FR), unplaced, was slowly away.
