The winner Valentine Boy (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Brighton on 16 October 2025 where the gelding finished eighth of twelve runners, beaten 10 lengths.
Luke Dace’s explanation that the gelding had benefitted from the return to a track it had previously run well at, was noted.

Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Midsummer Music (IRE), unplaced, stumbled leaving the stalls and as a result was slowly away.
