THE COLETTE, LYNN AND RACHEL'S 50TH BIRTHDAY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) (GBBPLUS RACE) Permission was given for Due To Henry (GB) and Ultrasoul (IRE) to wear a red hood to post; for Impartiality (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving Vincent Rocks (IRE), unplaced, ridden by David Probert, Due To Henry (GB), placed third, ridden by Sean Dylan Bowen, Rastnet (IRE), unplaced, ridden by George Wood and Impartiality (GB), placed second, ridden by Shane Gray.
Probert was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he failed to leave sufficient room for the three runners on his inside to negotiate the bend and as a result, caused Bowen to check on Due To Henry (GB) and in turn slightly inconvenienced both Rastnet (IRE) and Impartiality (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the bend into the home straight involving the winner, Ultrasoul (IRE), ridden by Robbie Downey and Vincent Rocks (IRE), unplaced, ridden by David Probert.
Downey was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as with Vincent Rocks (IRE) racing upsides him and directly to his outside, he angled his mount right-handed across the heels of Sea Founder (GB), unplaced, when it ought to have been obvious to him that such a manoeuvre would result in interference to Probert, who as a result was moved wider off his intended racing line.
Approaching one furlong out, Sea Founder (GB), unplaced, hung sharply right-handed bumping the winner, Ultrasoul (IRE), which was moved off its intended line but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately half a furlong out, Impartiality (GB), placed second, shifted quickly right-handed away from the whip, briefly hampering Golden West (GB), placed fourth but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Impartiality (GB).
Following the race, Luke Morris reported that Sea Founder (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed in the home straight.
