com HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) (GBBPLUS RACE) Permission was given for French Duke (IRE), Astro King (IRE) and Let's Dream (GB) to wear a red hood to post, and for Jimmy Speaking (GB) to go to post early wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend, involving Port Of London (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Robert Havlin, Ultrasoul (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Vincent Ho, Virtual Rock (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Connor Beasley, and Jimmy Speaking (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa.
The interference was found to be accidental as approaching the bend Ultrasoul (IRE) moved slightly left-handed away from Port Of London (IRE), moving Virtual Rock (IRE) slightly left-handed, resulting in De Sousa taking a precautionary check when tightened for room on the bend.
2½ furlongs out, Virtual Rock (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed then shifted quickly left-handed when corrected, giving a bump to Astro King (IRE), placed fifth, which in turn made contact with LET’S DREAM, unplaced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Rounding the final bend, Jimmy Speaking (GB), placed fourth, shifted quickly left-handed before being corrected, resulting in the free running French Duke (IRE), unplaced, becoming tight for room and its rider to have to take a check.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Jimmy Speaking (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line, involving Say What You See (IRE), placed second, ridden by Luke Morris, El Burhan (IRE), placed third, ridden by Jack Callan, and Jimmy Speaking (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa.
The interference was found to be accidental as El Burhan (IRE) hung slightly right-handed before being corrected, at the same time as SAY WHAT YOUR SEE (IRE) shifted left-handed away from the whip resulting in the weakening Jimmy Speaking (GB) becoming crowded for room and De Sousa to have to take a check.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Ultrasoul (IRE), unplaced, had bled from the nose.
