Permission was given for Gaassee (IRE), Crack Shot (IRE) and Let's Dream (GB) to wear a red hood to post; Rhythm Master (IRE) to wear a red hood in the parade ring; Light Speed (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute and for Spioradalta (GB) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
Leaving the stalls, Rhythm Master (IRE), unplaced, lugged left-handed making contact on two occasions with Two Brothers (GB), unplaced, which was hampered.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately one furlong after the start, the free running Londoner (IRE), placed fifth, drifted right- handed at the same time as Glistening Nights (FR), unplaced, edged marginally left-handed resulting in LET’S DREAM, unplaced, being tightened for racing room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Londoner (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving, Crack Shot (IRE), placed third, ridden by Rob Hornby; Box To Box (IRE), placed second, ridden by Kevin Stott and the winner, Spioradalta (GB), ridden by Duran Fentiman.
Fentiman was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed for some distance without correction, causing Crack Shot (IRE) to be crowded for room and Hornby to take a check.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Two Brothers (GB), unplaced, lost its left fore shoe.
