The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Happy Pharoah, ridden by P.A. Harnett, placed first, and Light As Air, ridden by J. Cleary, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. A. Harnett stated that both horses drifted together for the first contact and then he did his best to straighten his mount. J. Cleary stated that there was contact but it had not affected his finishing position. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Happy Pharoah had caused interference to Light As Air it did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that P. A. Harnett, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard (third offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended him for eight racedays
D. Browne McMonagle, rider of Aeronautic, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount suffered interference on the first bend
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Comfort Zone, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away and bumped after the start
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Too Bossy For Us, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was impeded slightly two hundred yards out
R.P. Cleary, rider of Buddy One, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered early on
K.G. Kennedy, rider of God Of Thunder, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room on the first bend
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the first bend involving Aeronautic, ridden by D. Browne McMonagle, placed third, Lord Church, ridden by J.A. Powell, placed sixth, and Buddy One, ridden by R.P
Cleary, unplaced, where it appeared Buddy One ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned
D. Browne McMonagle stated that he received pressure from his outside. J. A. Powell stated that he maintained his line as the horses in front crossed him. R. P. Cleary stated that he received pressure from his outside and ran up on rails. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found J. A
Powell, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended J. A. Powell for four racedays. K. G. Kennedy was unable to attend this enquiry as he was receiving medical attention after a fall in a subsequent race, however the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that they could proceed in his absence in circumstances where there was sufficient evidence available from the other riders. .
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards that are EBF eligible and that have run three or more times under any Rules of Racing up to and including 1st September, 2025, at least one of those runs having been over a distance of nine furlongs or more on or after 1st August, 2024 (105 = 10st) Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
