THE TRADE NATION LONDON GOLD CUP HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) (Heritage Handicap) (GBBPLUS RACE) Permission was given for Capall Rasa (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Lost Boys (IRE), ridden by Jason Watson and Sahara King (GB), placed second, ridden by Sean Levey.
The Stewards considered that Sahara King (GB), which was hanging right-handed and showing a tendency to shift right-handed in the closing stages, was latterly intimidated by Lost Boys (IRE), which had edged right-handed on the run to the line, consequently taking Sahara King (GB) further off its line.
Having taken into account where the incident had taken place in relation to the winning line, and that there was no loss of momentum with the rider of Sahara King (GB) able to continue riding forward, the Stewards considered that the ground lost was less than the official distance of a head at the line.
They therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered and found the interference to be accidental.
Following the race, Pierre-Louis Jamin reported that Capall Rasa (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed.
