The Stewards enquired into the process of the hurdles being omitted in the home straight prior to race 2.
The Clerk of the Course, Starters, Gavin (GB) Sheehan and Sean Bowen were interviewed.
The Starter reported that having raised concerns, the two interviewed jockeys went to look at the final hurdle and having done so, the ground staff began to implement bypass procedures prior to receiving guidance from the Clerk of the Course.
The riders were reminded that the low sun protocol requires them to raise concerns with the starter so that they can then be communicated to the Clerk of the Course and the stewards to act upon, and the Clerk of the Course was further reminded to inform the ground staff that the bypass procedures can only be initiated following communication from them.
An enquiry was held to consider interference 3 furlongs out involving Razzle Dazzle Boy (IRE), placed second, ridden by Mr Edward Vaughan; the winner Another Fine Mess (IRE), ridden by Lorcan Williams and Gower Spirit (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tom Bellamy.
The interference was found to be accidental as when negotiating the bypass both Razzle Dazzle Boy (IRE) and Another Fine Mess (IRE) were improving their positions to the inside of Gower Spirit (GB) and as they attempted to round the chase fence, Another Fine Mess (IRE) became short of room between Gower Spirit (GB) and Razzle Dazzle Boy (IRE) which in turn unbalanced a weakening Gower Spirit (GB).
