Approaching the first bend, a free running Mr Jetman (IRE), unplaced, shifted slightly left-handed, causing Show Biz Kid (IRE), unplaced, to be taken off its intended line, which in turn crowded, the winner, Titian (IRE), for room and caused the rider of I Still Have Faith (GB), placed third, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Mr Thomas Easterby, reported that Leadenhall (GB), unplaced, had become fractious in the stalls as the start was effected, resulting in the gelding being slowly away and losing many lengths; Miss Brodie Hampson reported that Alazwar (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout; and Mr Frederick Tett reported that Golden Pharaoh (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
