Permission was given for Yanifer (GB) to go early to post; for Balmacara (GB) and Apiarist (IRE) to go early to post, wearing a red hood; for Hickory (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post, wearing a red hood; and for Purosangue (GB) and Tarkhan (GER) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference just inside the final furlong, involving Great Acclaim (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Charles Bishop, Mirabeau (GB), unplaced, ridden by Cieren Fallon and Rahmi (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by R M Mulligan.
The interference was found to be accidental as Great Acclaim (GB) lugged right-handed despite the riders best efforts, moving Mirabeau (GB) onto the heels of Rahmi (IRE), which had edged marginally left-handed.
Following the race, Mark Winn reported that Akkadian Thunder (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed; and Billy Garrity reported that Apiarist (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run approaching 2 furlongs out.
