Leaving the stalls Badri (GB), placed fourth, lost its early position when badly crowded for racing room between Kullazain (GB), unplaced, which jumped right-handed and the winner, Knebworth (GB), which jumped slightly left-handed and as a result Knebworth (GB) also became unbalanced after having its hindquarters turned, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Knebworth (GB).
