THE MIDNITE ALL-WEATHER VASE SPRINT HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for Carbine Harvester (FR), Moulin Booj (IRE), Dark Ace (IRE) and Mesaafi (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Toby Moore, the rider of Accrual (GB) was unseated approaching the first bend.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved and was caused by the gelding’s saddle slipping and subsequently unseating Moore.
The Stewards noted that approximately three furlongs out, the loose horse moved left-handed, causing Moulin Booj (IRE), placed sixth, to be checked and switched for a clear run.
Following the race, R M Mulligan reported that Apache Outlaw (IRE), unplaced, accelerated the gate and was slowly as a result.
Jack Callan reported that Carbine Harvester (FR), unplaced, hung right-handed.
Darragh Keenan reported that Moulin Booj (IRE), placed sixth, was carried wide by the loose horse.
