After an initial false start, the start was effected successfully on the second attempt.
However, having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
It was noted that at the fifth fence, Ol Man Dingle (IRE), unplaced, made a bad mistake nearly unseating the rider.
The winner, Meetmebythesea (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newbury on 07 February 2026, where the gelding finished last of six runners, beaten by 51¼ lengths.
Ben Pauling explained that Meetmebythesea (IRE) had benefitted from a step up in trip from 2 miles, to 2 miles 4 furlongs, and today's Good, Good to Soft in places ground, compared to the Heavy, Soft in places at Newbury.
His explanation was noted, Meetmebythesea (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Tom Bellamy reported that Moon Rocket (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Dr Eggman (FR), unplaced, finished lame on its left- hind leg.
