Permission was given for Overlooked (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start and for Sir Maxi (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
Mr James Hills, the rider of INCONSPICIOUS (IRE), drawn 11, had appeared to not keep straight from the stalls.
After being interviewed and shown recordings, the rider was suspended for 1 day on a date to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Amateur, Mr Hills was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
An enquiry was held to consider three possible incidents of interference throughout the first furlong.
The first incident involved Inconspicuous (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mr James Hills and Overlooked (IRE), placed third, ridden by Miss Hannah Dring.
The second incident involved Cable Beach (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Mr Patrick Millman, Overlooked (IRE), and Aim For The Bull (IRE), placed second, ridden by Mr Fletcher Yarham.
Miss Kayleigh McCammon, the rider of Supernova Steps (GB), unplaced, was also interviewed but found not to be involved.
The third incident involved Von Krolock (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mr Eireann Cagney, and Inconspicuous (IRE).
Being 7Ib Claiming Amateur riders, both Mr Hills and Miss McCammon were offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
In the first incident, Mr Hills was cautioned for careless riding in that shortly after the start he angled his mount left-handed when not fully clear of Overlooked (IRE), causing Miss Dring to take a slight check.
In the second incident, Mr Millman was suspended for 3 days for careless riding, on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, as shortly after the start, he switched his mount right-handed off the rail when not fully clear of Overlooked (IRE), giving that gelding a significant bump causing it to become unbalanced and in turn hamper Aim For The Bull (IRE), carrying that gelding wider off its intended line.
In the third incident, Mr Cagney was cautioned for careless riding in that approximately 1 furlong after the start, he angled his mount left-handed when insufficiently clear of INCONSPICIOUS (IRE), causing Mr Hills to briefly take a check.
Approximately ½ a furlong after the start, a free-running winner, A Pint Of Bear (IRE) shifted left- handed causing the rider of Saved Lizzie (GB), unplaced, to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of A Pint Of Bear (IRE).
The winner, A Pint Of Bear (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 26 November 2025 where the gelding finished tenth of eleven runners, beaten by 16 lengths.
The representative of Scott Dixon’s explanation that A Pint Of Bear (IRE) benefited from the application of first-time blinkers on this occasion.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Miss Ruby Criscuolo reported that Saved Lizzie (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
