The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances whereby Ossifer Hops, ridden by E.M. O'Sullivan, did not jump the second last but proceed to jump the last hurdle. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was carried out at the second last and when he came back to the racing line after the second last he was not sure what to do then as he was worried about interfering with the other runners. Evidence was also heard from the IHRB Judge who stated that he marked Ossifer Hops down as being carried out at the second last. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that E. M O'Sullivan was in breach of Rule 215(i) and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended E. M. O'Sullivan for two racedays. Furthermore the Raceday Stewards confirmed the Judge's recording of Ossifer Hops as being carried out
R.J. Condon, rider of Dark Lieutenant, trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered at the second last hurdle
The Raceday Stewards reviewed the fall on the flat of Qaasid, ridden by D. E. Mullins, who brought down Ballyredinkingston and Opposite Ends on the approach to the second last hurdle. Having considered the matter and viewed a recording of the race, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Qaasid slipped up independently of any other runner and they were satisfied that no further action was warranted
