THE CORAL KINCSEM HERITAGE HANDICAP (CLASS 2) Permission was given for LEAN D’AISLINGEAN (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood and for Harmonics (IRE), Savvy Disko (IRE), Decade Of Time (GB) and Ciarrai Abu (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
Ciarrai Abu (IRE) unseated George Wood on the way to the start.
Having been checked by the Doctor and the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, both Wood and the gelding were deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, involving Gonna Fly (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Hector Crouch, Lion Of Alba (GB), unplaced, ridden by David Probert and Savvy Disko (IRE), which fell, ridden by Billy Loughnane.
The interference was found to be accidental as in a tightly bunched field, Loughnane had presented Savvy Disko (IRE) for a tight but legitimate gap between Lion Of Alba (GB) and Gonna Fly (IRE), Gonna Fly (IRE) changed leads and leaned slightly right-handed at the same time as Lion Of Alba (GB) edged slightly left-handed, resulting in Savvy Disko (IRE) clipping heels, stumbling and falling.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line, involving the winner, Ciarrai Abu (IRE), ridden by George Wood, Bourbon Blues (GB), placed second, ridden by Joe Leavy and Harmonics (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Shane Foley.
Wood was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as after an initial effort to correct, he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction, resulting in Foley having to take a check of Harmonics (IRE), and thereafter taking Leavy off his intended racing line.
