An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving Brosay (GB), placed sixth, ridden by David Probert and Winchurch (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Frederick Larson.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Brosay (GB)’s placing as he was improving rapidly from behind and gaining the upper hand prior to the contact, as well as the proximity of the incident to the finishing line.
Probert was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he switched sharply right-handed, bumping and unbalancing Winchurch (IRE).
Following the race, Silvestre De Sousa reported that Star Chorus (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run.
