The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Another Challenge, trained by Oliver McKiernan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Kayla's Friend, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed second, and My Good Pal, ridden by Mr B.M. Coonan, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. W. Flanagan stated that he received a bump and it finished his challenge. Mr B. M. Coonan stated that his mount wandered around in front and he corrected it. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while My Good Pal had caused interference to Kayla's Friend it did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action
D.A Kidd, rider of Pebble Island (GB), trained by Jordan Kidd, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was lame post race. The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Pebble Island and reported the animal to be lame post race
S.W. Flanagan, rider of Kayla's Friend, trained by James William Hannon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a bump in the closing stages.
An extended handicap hurdle for three years old and upwards rated 0-100 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
