The lads are all training for Drom & Inch (Tipperary) tonight and there's a match Friday night, so I said the hurling comes first. The Raceday Stewards interviewed J. Pietropaolo, rider of Synchronize, trained by J. Morrison, concerning his riding inside the last 100 yards where it appeared he stopped riding possibly losing out out on fifth place as a result. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who said his horse had no more to give and he didn't want to keep at the horse. He further added that his riding made no difference to the finishing result. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of Rule 212A(iv)(a) by stopping riding and losing out on a better place and having considered his clean record, they suspended him for four racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee.
