The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Answer That, ridden by Miss A.B. O'Connor, placed fourth, and Zeus Power (GER), ridden by Mr J.L. Gleeson, placed second, where it appeared Answer That ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Miss A. B. O'Connor stated that she suffered interference and her run was stopped. Mr J. L. Gleeson stated that his mount hung left and he did his best to keep his mount straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr J. L. Gleeson was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr J. L. Gleeson for four racedays
