It is nice to get another win out of him. He is a good honest horse, put his head down and Eoin said he wanted to win. I think he just began with a high rating at the start so it took him a while to find his feet, but he's really getting the hang of the jumping now. The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident running into the dip involving Harpy Eagle, ridden by Paddy Cody, placed second, Marelly, ridden by Tiernan Power Roche, placed fifth, and Katherine, ridden by Harry Sexton, unplaced, where it appeared Katherine ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned
Paddy Cody stated that his mount became a little unbalanced but did not contribute to any interference. Tiernan Power Roche stated that he was pushed out off the bend and was returning to his racing line. Harry Sexton stated that he maintained his racing line and received a little pressure from both sides. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any one rider and took no further action
Darragh O'Keeffe, rider of Bowgate Street, trained by M. Flannery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left throughout
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Paddy Cody, rider of Harpy Eagle, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Paddy Cody was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) The Raceday Stewards suspended Paddy Cody for two racedays.
