See also » Eddie G shows bravery to land Naas success He was caught wide on the outside in Leopardstown last time and it was a little bit quick. He just struggled. He had a good run previous to that in the north. He likes a little bit of juice but the ground is beautiful out there. It's riding really, really safe and even a horse that wants a little bit of juice, they are travelling on it. He's a tough little hardy boy. Where he was rated he wasn't going to get a run next week in Galway, that's why he is here. They are Galway lads that own him, the Connollys. He was 73, so he wasn't going to get in. We might find something for him before the week is out. There are entries closing tomorrow. If he is getting in and he's okay, he'll go there. Adrian McGuinness, trainer
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Spodo Komodo (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, Watch Tower, ridden by C.T. Keane, and Eddie G, ridden by Adam Caffrey, where it appeared Eddie G edged out causing Watch Tower to run short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R. P. Whelan stated that his mount was intimidated by the horse on his inner and lugged right slightly but he did his best to maintain his line. C. T. Keane stated that his race was run when things got a little tight. Adam Caffrey stated that the horse on his outside was dropping back and he felt at the time that there was room to go for the gap. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Adam Caffrey was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended Adam Caffrey for two race days
N.M. Crosse, rider of Blues Emperor, trained by William Harvey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls
