Permission was given for Pixie Diva (GB) to wear a red hood to post, for Blazing Son (GB) and Shiplake (IRE) to go to post early, and for Golden Strike (IRE) to go to post early wearing a red hood.
Blazing Son (GB), drawn 8, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
One furlong out, the weakening Blazing Son (GB), unplaced, edged marginally left-handed resulting in Golden Strike (IRE), unplaced, becoming crowded for room and the rider have to ease momentarily, at the same time as Law Of Design (IRE), placed fourth, lugged right-handed before being quickly corrected, resulting in Irish Nectar (GB), placed fifth, being moved off its intended line and having to switch when crowded for room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
