An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving the winner, TABIT, ridden by Ryan Moore, Jabaara (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa, and Formal (GB), unplaced, ridden by Oisin Murphy.
Moore was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed when insufficiently clear of Jabaara (IRE), taking De Sousa slightly of his intended line.
Having heard the evidence, the Steward’s considered the interference suffered by Murphy was caused by his mount racing freely and having to be continually steadied off heels.
Following the race, Finley Marsh reported that Fair Angellica (GB), unplaced, was slowly away and Oisin Murphy reported that Formal (GB), unplaced, ran free and as a result had to be repeatedly checked off the heels of runners in the early stages.
