The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances where R.P. Cleary was declared to ride Comfort Line, trained by Adrian McGuinness when he was ineligible due to the conditions of the race. R.P. Cleary stated that he had ridden his sixteenth winner of the season the day before the cut off for the race conditions. He stated that he was alerted by his agent after declarations and he contacted HRI who confirmed his ineligibility. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted his explanation and reminded him of his responsibilities under Rule 195
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Ms Claire O'Connell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Roman Harry, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ms. Claire O'Connell stated that his most recent run had come only six days after his previous run and she felt the twenty eight day gap between runs today helped bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its content
L.F. Roche, rider of Battle Borne, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no run in the home straight.
