It (trip) did suit him. He has no real experience over hurdles and I didn't think he finished too strong when third in Limerick over Christmas, but Phillip was stronger on him. He said over two and a half miles the horse would give a better account of himself today, and he was right. This race came up at a time that kind of suited, so that was it really. He is a nice horse and he is a good, big horse with lots of size and scope. If he stays sound, he should jump a fence someday. We didn't think much after today - just get him out today and see did he improve from Limerick, and he did, so that's good.

Danny gave her a lovely ride and dictated from the front. He quickened at the right time and got a good jump over the last. I'd say the jump over the last made the difference. She's great, that’s job done and you can't complain. I'd imagine something like the mares' handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival could be next.

Exactly, the 7lb off (claim) just levelled it there. He was impressive there and did it very well. Eoin thought he had gears there again today, so he is probably versatile enough. It is nice to see him do that on a bit of softer ground as well. That is soft enough out there now and it takes a bit of getting. We won't rush him, we won't overface him but he is a nice horse to have and hopefully he keeps progressing.

You can be sure he’ll be in Killarney and Galway and will keep mixing it. Cian was very happy with him today and thought the extra trip was a big plus to him which will open up a few more options. He’s a lovely horse, we like him a lot. We thought we were unlucky here the last day that we were beaten by one of Charles’ (Byrnes, On Your Way). He got a cut the last day and that’s why he was missing over Christmas. We’ll try and find something else now. JJ (Slevin) rode him one day and said he’s crying out for fences in the summer, on good ground. The only doubt I had today was the ground.

He probably needed the run at Naas the last day having been off so long, and hopefully now he can build on that and go again. We were afraid of the 'bounce' but, thank God, it worked out. He has had a lot of injuries and has very little miles for his age. He'll go chasing at some stage and might be better over fences if he takes to it. We're delighted to have a Christmas winner.

We’re happy with that, he’s eight-year-old so he’s entitled to it,. He’s a funny horse. I went to Ballinrobe with him in the summer and he got jarred up, we thought he wanted good ground but I wasn’t happy with him when he came home. We ran him at Punchestown over three miles and felt he just didn’t get the trip. We thought we’d go back to two-and-a-half here and it obviously worked. Kieren said he definitely doesn’t want heavy ground either. He was well entitled to win one, we felt, somewhere along the line. Hopefully we can get another one out of him somewhere. He said the first half he wasn’t travelling for him but he said when he gave him a smack across the top at Ballyhack and said ‘get into the race a bit’ he tanked with him then. I’m happy that he put his nose in front eventually for us.

That was brilliant and I'm delighted for Seamus and the family, who have put a lot of belief in me. They have stuck with me so long and I believe this horse is much better than what he has shown so far. I'm from Germany, have been in Ireland nearly 13 years and have a show-jumping background. I decided to change at the end of 2012 and came across Mark Molloy (trainer) who asked me had I ever ridden a thoroughbred and I said no, so stayed with him and fell in love with the point-to-pointers. I learned a lot from Mark and then moved to Henry De Bromhead where I also learned a lot, so then jumped and did it on my own. I'm mainly focused on point-to-pointers, only have a couple of runners for the track and am based in Nenagh, in Tom Hogan's yard. I have loads of young stock coming along and have plenty good owners so without them I couldn't do it. Seamus and his family are from Ballina/Killaloe and I have a couple of young horses for them too so this is brilliant.

I’m always giving out that in the ‘100s’ every time she ran she was getting beat by lower ones, but she’s very consistent,. She should be left off for the winter, but she was in such good form you couldn’t. When she ran here the last day, she went on the soft ground so I said we’d come back at Christmas over two-miles-three (furlongs). Darragh O’Keeffe did a great job on her, but I wanted 7lb. I said to Calum that usually she’d be sitting and finding one or two too good, so to go on and go a gallop. I was looking at halfway and I said maybe I gave him the wrong instructions, but she’s tough. Her mother won here, Backinthere, and she was my first winner. I’ve very lucky owners, the Sheehans, and they’ve been great to me. I only have two to run on the track, this one and God Help Us, and both of them have won this year. Usually she gets her break, so I don’t know. Hopefully, there is a chase in her during the summer, but she deserved that.

She is a grand mare and hopefully can go forward from that. She had won a point-to-point and had run well in a bumper and won easily enough today,. Someone was sure (she'd win) but it wasn't me who backed her. I told Harry to tip away and to keep an eye on the favourite (Justatan) as I thought he was the one to beat. It worked out well. My brother Matt bred her and she is owned by a local publican Anthony Smart from Ballincurrig. The family goes back years for us, as long as I can remember and back to the 1970s. My father and John Magnier had the base mare Even More between them. I don't know how many steps she goes back but it is a long time ago.

Kimy had the cheekpieces on today but I don't know whether they made the difference as she was coming along well. She had a lot of weight in Ballinrobe the last day and that was a good run. She never scopes clean, that's her problem but had nicer ground today and I knew she was getting better. She only needed to improve a little bit to win this race. Everything went sweet for Danny, there was no problems. She'll go to the Lartigue at Listowel but will be out of the handicap if Nurburgring (Galway Hurdle winner) runs. We'll stick her in it anyway and she where she is.

His mark over hurdles was tempting and he’s after coming to himself. We were disappointed for a while over hurdles, but fences seem to have changed him and he’s after getting to like the job. I thought Brendan (Keogh, owner) was coming over and I said I’d run the two of them, but the other horse (I’m Slippy) was disappointing. I was a bit concerned about the ground for this horse, but Phillip said he handled it very well. I suppose he was entitled to win off his mark once that improvement was there compared to his hurdle runs before. I’d imagine he’ll probably go back over fences.

She's been a nice mare all the time and I thought she couldn't get beat the last day,. For some reason she hung the whole way with Simon Torrens last time, he said he had two hands on one rein. We just gave her a bit of time off, a couple of easy weeks, and started off again. She's done it like I thought she would have done it in Fairyhouse the last day. She's a lovely mare by Walk In The Park. We'll keep her to two-and-a-half or three miles and probably looks for another handicap before going chasing after that. She has a mark over fences, she ran over fences in Clonmel.
