Formscan By Mark Nunan - KAKORI bombed out when favourite for a handicap run in deplorable conditions at the Curragh last month, but it may pay to give her another chance. Joseph O’Brien’s filly was found to have returned with a few grazes to a hock, so may not have been able to give of her best, and she ran a lovely race on handicap debut at Gowran Park in October. There must still be every chance that she’s on a good mark. Goldrush Kid will enjoy conditions and already has two creditable recent runs under his belt this season, while Queen Aethelflaed was in great form at the back end of last year and returns from a break. %0A
An extended handicap for four years old and upwards (70 = 10st)Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.

Quotes on Lohengrin (GB)
It is absolutely brilliant. Our family are long associated with here. I honestly thought we would run very, very well. The last winner for the family here was in 1965, trained by my grandfather Eamon Delany and ridden by Francis Flood, which was obviously 60 years ago today. It was one I wanted to get on the CV. Dad is at home and he is not in the best of health, and this is better than any medication. You can’t get this medication. I’m very lucky with the staff we have and the owners we have that support us. There’s a huge crowd here all backing us.After Lohengrin (GB) finished 1st at Laytown on Thu, 4th Sep 2025 7f Flat Maiden Standard

Quotes on Summer Island (USA)
he has been very straightforward since he joined our yard and his work has been solid. Based on his work, we thought he was probably a little bit better than his current handicap mark. We were pretty confident that he was going to deliver a nice performance today. He is genuine, very honest and hopefully can give the owners a good bit of fun. He has been a solid enough performer for his previous yard, and hopefully he can step forward again. We will see what the handicapper does, but I'd say he will have no problem on all-weather or good ground on turf. He should be a nice, solid handicapper. we have been watching Reese (Holohan) riding his winners here and he looks very valuable for his 7lb claim. Hopefully, we can get him again on the likes of these handicappers. After Summer Island (USA) finished 1st at Dundalk on Fri, 6th Feb 2026 1m Flat Hcap Standard

Quotes on Queen Aethelflaed (IRE)
that hadn’t a lot to do with me as this was Edward’s (O’Grady, recently deceased) horse so his lads had been doing the work. I didn’t know much about her but she is a nice filly and this is Mrs Hoare’s first horse with me. She is a well-bred filly, I think she will run again this season and we could step her up to 1m2f.After Queen Aethelflaed (IRE) finished 1st at Thurles on Thu, 9th Oct 2025 1m Flat Hcap Good to Yielding

Quotes on Selective Power (IRE)
It worked out very well, we couldn’t have thought it any better!. Ground is a big thing for him, he takes a few runs and the cheekpieces were back on - I’m delighted. He’s probably a little bit better than this grade, but it’s just the way it fell. Every time we ran, we were hoping the rain was coming, but it never came. James gave him a great ride. It’s my Dad’s (Paul) syndicate (Urban & Rural Boys Syndicate). He was sick last year and this horse boosted him up no end. They’ve had this syndicate since Molly’s Boy 20 years ago. It’s still going with a few new friends. The other horse was second. We were going to leave him to next week, but the lads are local. I thought he would have needed the run and expect him to improve. We’ve a few horses ready to go, we’ve been waiting for the rain. Hopefully, we can keep going because it’s been frustrating, we had a good few seconds earlier in the year. Hopefully, we can kick on a get a few winners from here to the end of the year. After Selective Power (IRE) finished 1st at Roscommon on Mon, 1st Sep 2025 7f Flat Hcap Soft

Quotes on Uncle Albert (IRE)
I said before coming down that I'd have been gutted if this lad had been beaten so it is great to get off the mark for year. He worked very well during the week, is tough, genuine, loves the ground and had good form last year. He has improved and he can go through that ground. Declan said he caught him out as he fell asleep halfway through the race but said he went with him when he asked. He probably won too far but on that ground what can you do. We have had great luck with his sire Dragon Pulse and hopefully now there could be a nice pot in him. He would be ground dependent though so I'm the only one hoping it keeps raining! After Uncle Albert (IRE) finished 1st at Cork on Sat, 30th Mar 2024 7f Flat Hcap Heavy
