Formscan By Gary Carson - A competitive looking event and DOONBEG DON may prove the pick stepping back up in trip. He ran into a well handicapped rival in Don’t Talk at Down Royal back in January and that rival went on to frank the form. That was over two-and-a-half and the Soldier Of Fortune gelding may be better suited by this extra three furlongs having won over a similar trip to this on his chase debut at Galway last October. Maciver comes here in tip-top form but a 9lb rise for his narrow Limerick win makes things tougher. Bite That won easily on his return at Wexford and also has to be on the shortlist.
