Formscan By Alan Magee - MAHLERS COVE won a handicap hurdle at Thurles last spring and has progressed since switched to fences this season, notably when tackling handicap company at Naas last time. The Jimmy Mangan-trained gelding was prominent throughout and only gave best in the closing stages when third to the well-backed Money Heist. Meehall has gained both his wins over three miles and ran a cracker when runner-up over the same trip here last time. This represents a huge drop in distance although the testing ground will help to bring his stamina into play. Freddie Robdal has been quite consistent over fences since winning at Tramore earlier this year but needs to bounce back after disappointing over hurdles at Navan last month. Rolly Bowley Boy and Teescomponentsyess are closely matched on running at Navan recently.
