Formscan By Tom Weekes - A chance is taken that DUKE OF LEGGAGH will recapture form as he is ideally suited by soft ground and, notably, won this race last year. A six-time winner, the selection’s form this summer has been poor but ran on past beaten horses when competing over an inadequate mile at Punchestown recently, and now competes from 8lb below last year’s winning mark. Ten-time winner Arch Enemy has recent form and is a previous CD winner, so should compete. Stablemate Coulsty’s Way has been raised 10lb for his recent Galway success, although the runner-up scored subsequently and also holds obvious claims. Miss Australie finished a never-nearer fourth at Listowel while Justenzia has been running well.

The handicapper reassessed everything recently and gave her a chance by dropping her 2lb and letting her into this low-grade event. The breed improve with age. I had Lady Scathach who didn't do anything until she was a four and five-year-old and she won five for us. They just seem to need time. It wasn't the plan to be that far back - we just got swallowed up from the outside, but she gave him a very cool ride after that. He did it very well, quickened up fierce well. He had been working out of his skin, and I would have been disappointed if he wasn't thereabouts. He improved since his last run. If there is something that suits here (in April or May), we'll use it, but he has form on grass as well. He's improving away. We were drawn wide and I did tell Sam to drop this one in, he just about gets the trip, but he needs to be put asleep very early on. He did exactly what he was told.
