Permission was given for both Chale Chalo (IRE) and Sword Maker (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start, for Veiled Truth (GB) to go early to post and Art Lover (IRE) wore earplugs throughout the preliminaries which were removed upon arrival at the start.
Approaching 1 furlong out, the winner, Sword Maker (IRE) hung quickly left-handed despite the riders best efforts to correct the colt resulting in both Dacres Cross (IRE), unplaced, and Art Lover (IRE), unplaced, becoming momentarily short of room but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Sword Maker (IRE).
Approaching 1 furlong out, Kinnalargy (GB), placed fourth, shifted slightly right-handed resulting in Magic Stone (IRE), placed second, stepping quickly right-handed causing both Irish Fighter (IRE), unplaced, and Dream More (GB), unplaced, to become momentarily short of room and Art Lover (IRE), unplaced, having to be steadied resulting in the rider of Veiled Truth (GB), unplaced, having to take a precautionary check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, Tom Marquand reported that Art Lover (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference approaching 1 furlong out and Oisin Murphy reported that the winner, Sword Maker (IRE) hung left- handed under pressure.
