The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Slieve Binnian, trained by David Marnane, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the start involving Flame Of Forest, ridden by W.M
Lordan and Steel Cut, ridden by G.F. Carroll, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.M. Lordan stated that when the horse on his outside moved into his racing line, his mount struck into its near hind. G.F. Carroll stated that he thought he was clear and he rolled in a fraction quicker than he should have. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found G.F. Carroll, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard (third offence) they suspended him for eight racedays
