Leaving the stalls, Possible Ambition (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed hampering Big Narstie (FR), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving King Of The Dance (IRE), placed third, ridden by David Probert, Ajrad (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Lewis Edmunds, the winner, Bitacora (IRE), ridden by Sean Levey, Capallcliste (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Jack Dace and Tilsworth Max (GB), unplaced, ridden by Marco Ghiani.
The interference was found to be accidental and caused by a free running Ajrad (GB), hanging left-handed away from Bitacora (IRE) as the leaders were steadying the pace, which resulted in King Of The Dance (IRE) being checked and Capallcliste (IRE) losing its position when tightened for room, after Tilsworth Max (GB) had also shifted right-handed off the rail.
Approaching the final furlong, Possible Ambition (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts, making contact with Glencalvie (IRE), unplaced, which was carried off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Bitacora (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 12 February 2025, where the gelding finished eighth of nine runners, beaten 6¾ lengths.
Daragh Bourke explained that the mare had benefitted from stepping up in trip to 1 mile and ½ a furlong from 7 furlongs and had also settled better for being more prominently ridden, which was noted.
Bitacora (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Jack Dace reported that Capallcliste (IRE), placed fifth, ran too free; Jason Watson reported that Hawajes (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away from the stalls; Marco Ghiani reported that Tilsworth Max (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed and Darragh Keenan reported that WE’RENOTREALLYHERE, unplaced, hung badly left-handed.
