Approaching 1 furlong out, the winner, Gladius (IRE) edged right-handed, causing Watching Stars (GB), placed second, to be moved slightly off its intended line, resulting in Dalmally (GB), placed fourth, having to be steadied momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Gladius (IRE).
Following the race, Jamie Spencer reported that Caledonian (GB), unplaced, was steadily into stride.
