The Raceday Stewards interviewed Gavin Cromwell, trainer of Millforce, in relation to the late withdrawal of his charge who holds an engagement at Thurles tomorrow. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he declared his charge for today because of a dry forecast and had hoped the ground would dry out more than it had. He added that he was keen to run for a very good pot today but having walked the track and spoken to riders that had ridden earlier he did not feel the going was suitable for his charge. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
T.P. Harney, rider of Eagles Reign, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never tavelled
The Raceday Stewards interviewed J. Coen, rider of Koori Star, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J. Coen was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended J. Coen for four racedays
The Raceday Stewards reviewed the second approach by the field to the starter where it appeared that Koori Star, ridden by J. Coen had proceeded to a trot and canter despite his best efforts, resulting in a false start. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
