The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Grizabella, ridden by D
McMonagle, placed second and Plunkett Street (GB), ridden by L.F. Roche, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. McMonagle said he went for a run down the inside and Plunkett Street drifted across, tightening him and caused him to switch. He added the interference cost him the winning of the race. L.F. Roche said his mount hung right all the way up the straight and felt Grizabella had enough time to get into the gap if he was good enough. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action
D. McMonagle, rider of Grizabella, trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got carried right and had to switch which cost him the winning of the race
L.F. Roche, rider of Plunkett Street (GB), trained by Michael William O'Meara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout
