J.M. Sheridan, rider of Big Cypress (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to check at the furlong pole
W. Joyce, rider of Storzando, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to check at the furlong pole
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the home straight involving Big Cypress (GB), ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed second, and Ryefield Dasher, ridden by Nicola Burns, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan stated that his mount didn't get a clear run from the furlong pole home and was carried across the track which he felt cost him the race. N. Burns stated that she heard a shout from her inside so she pulled out. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Ryefield Dasher had caused slight interference to Big Cypress, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred so they therefore took no further action

Joyce stated that he received interference from both sides for a stride. J.M. Sheridan stated that it got tight as he was going through the same gap as W. Joyce. N. Burns stated that she kept as straight as possible. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that there was minor movements from all three but were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred so they took no further action other than to remind all three riders to ride with more awareness in future.
For three years old and upwards, maidens at starting that at entry have run at least twice and are rated 70 or less Weights - 3-y-o 9st 8lbs 4-y-o and up 9st 13lbs. Fillies allowed 5lbs.
