Permission was given for Prince Of Pillo (IRE) to go early to post, for Miraculous (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start and Showering (GB) wore earplugs throughout the preliminaries which were removed upon arrival at the start.
Turning into the home straight, Showering (GB), placed third, had to be switched right-handed off the heels of a weakening EL BODEN (IRE), placed fourth, resulting in that colt coming wide around the bend and taking Photosynthesis (IRE), unplaced, momentarily off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Showering (GB).
The winner, Marchogion (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ascot on 09 August 2025 where the colt finished last of ten runners, beaten by 18½ lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Andrew Balding could offer no explanation for Marchogion (GB)’s improved form on this occasion.
The colt was routine tested.
